Estonian Language
for the exam in categories A2-B2

Purpose of the course:
To improve the knowledge of Estonian Language, develop writing, reading, listening and speaking skills. Motivate students to communicate in Estonian Language, use it in various situations, familiarize them with traditions and culture. Participants are identified in a particular group on the basis of an enrolment test.

Course outline:
Preparing for the state examination in Estonian Language on the category A2-B2.
During the course you obtain necessary knowledge within the categories. Importance is given to spoken language and utilising various sources for language studying.
Grammar is studied together with practice.
The main emphasis is on developing communication skills. Active methods of work are used.

At the end of the course the student:
- understands short sentences and expressions from everyday life; answers simple questions and directions; masters the initial knowledge of language and culture;
- uses initial training skills to learn the language of category B1;
- understands the most important on a topic familiar to him;
- can describe events, dreams and goals and briefly argue them, explain their position and plans;
- can compose small texts on a familiar topic.

Course duration - 200 academic hours (150 contact hours / 50 independent work hours

At the end of the course the student:
- understands the most important on a topic familiar to him;
- can describe events, dreams and goals and briefly argue them, explain their position and plans;
- can compose small texts on a familiar topic;
- understands important on a familiar topic, the main content of radio and television programs and phone calls;
- able to write simple text connected with his familiar topic or a topic of interesting to him, his experiences and impressions in the description.

Course duration - 260 academic hours (180 contact hours / 80 independent work hours)

At the end of the course the student:

• understands the content and meaning of complex texts;
• can compose an abstract, review, conclusion;
• is able to present his opinion on a professional subject in writing and orally;
• can explain his point of view and identify strengths and weaknesses.
